Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
Â
These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, class passes and attendance at Village Roots Yoga classes. By purchasing a class or class pass and booking a class, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms.
1. Booking and class passes
-
All classes must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.
-
Class passes are for the individual named on the account and are non-transferable.
-
Class passes must be used within their stated validity period. Unused classes cannot normally be carried over beyond the expiry date.
-
Current class passes are:
-
Single Class – £12, valid for 3 months
-
3 Class Pass – £30, valid for 3 months
-
5 Class Pass – £40, valid for 6 months
-
Intro Class Pass – £5, one per person, valid for 3 months
-
-
The Intro Class Pass is available to new students only and may only be purchased once per person.
-
Where a discounted class pass has been purchased, unused credits cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded, except where required by law or where specifically stated in these terms.
2. Cancellation and missed classes
-
If you are unable to attend a class, you must cancel your booking at least 12 hours before the class start time.
-
If you cancel within the required 12-hour period, your class credit will be returned to your account so that you can use it for another class within the original validity period.
-
Late cancellations (less than 12 hours before the class) and no-shows will result in the class credit being forfeited.
-
No refund or replacement class will normally be provided for a late cancellation or no-show.
-
If you have booked a single class using a £12 credit, the same cancellation policy applies.
3. Cancellation by Village Roots Yoga
-
While every effort will be made to run classes as advertised, Village Roots Yoga reserves the right to cancel or change a class at short notice, for example due to illness, venue issues, weather or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
-
If Village Roots Yoga cancels a class, any class credit used to book that class will be returned to your account.
-
Where a class has been paid for separately and cannot be rescheduled, an appropriate refund or alternative arrangement will be offered.
4. Health and medical conditions
-
You must complete the health screening/PAR-Q accurately and honestly before attending your first class and update Village Roots Yoga if your health circumstances change.
-
You must inform the teacher before class of any relevant injury, medical condition, recent surgery or other physical limitation that may affect your ability to participate safely.
-
You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit to participate in a yoga class and should seek appropriate medical advice if you are unsure.
-
Yoga involves physical movement and, as with any physical activity, there is a risk of injury. You should always work within your own comfortable limits.
-
Please tell the teacher if anything feels painful, uncomfortable or unsafe during the class. You are welcome to rest or stop at any time.
-
Village Roots Yoga and its teacher will take reasonable steps to provide a safe environment but cannot accept responsibility for injury or illness resulting from failure to follow instructions, disclose relevant health information or work within your own physical limitations.
5. Pregnancy and postnatal attendance
Village Roots Yoga classes are not suitable during pregnancy.
-
You must not attend a Village Roots Yoga class if you are pregnant.
-
Classes are also not suitable during the first 12 weeks following childbirth.
-
You may return to Village Roots Yoga classes once you are 12 weeks postnatal, provided you feel ready and have no medical reason preventing you from participating.
-
If you discover that you are pregnant, or realise that you are less than 12 weeks postnatal, after purchasing a pass or booking a class, please contact Village Roots Yoga. A refund will be arranged for the affected booking/pass, as appropriate.
-
Please contact Village Roots Yoga if you are unsure whether a class is appropriate for you following childbirth.
6. Yoga classes are not medical or healthcare consultations
Village Roots Yoga classes are provided as yoga and wellbeing sessions and are not medical, nutritional or diagnostic consultations.
-
Although the teacher may have a professional healthcare background, Village Roots Yoga classes are separate from any medical practice or healthcare service.
-
There should be no expectation that the teacher will provide medical, diagnostic, nutritional or individual healthcare advice during a yoga class.
-
Any health information shared as part of the booking or health screening process is collected to help the teacher understand whether participation in the class is appropriate and how the practice may need to be adapted for safety.
-
If you have a medical concern, require a diagnosis, or need individual advice about medication, nutrition, treatment or a health condition, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
-
The teacher may suggest that you stop, modify or avoid a particular movement where they have concerns about your safety, but this should not be interpreted as a medical assessment or diagnosis.
-
Nothing discussed during a Village Roots Yoga class should be regarded as a substitute for appropriate medical or healthcare advice.
7. Behaviour and respect
Village Roots Yoga is intended to be a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment.
All students are expected to:
-
Treat the teacher, other students and venue staff with courtesy and respect.
-
Behave appropriately and avoid disruptive, aggressive or intimidating behaviour.
-
Respect personal space and physical boundaries.
-
Follow reasonable instructions from the teacher, particularly where these relate to safety.
-
Refrain from attending if under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
Village Roots Yoga reserves the right to ask anyone behaving inappropriately or creating an unsafe environment to leave the class. No refund or class credit will normally be provided in these circumstances.
8. Personal hygiene
As yoga involves exercising in a shared space and close proximity to other students, please be considerate of others.
-
Please attend class wearing clean, comfortable clothing and maintain good personal hygiene.
-
Please use deodorant where appropriate.
-
If you are unwell, particularly with a contagious illness, please do not attend class. Where possible, cancel within the normal cancellation period.
-
Please avoid wearing strong perfumes or fragrances, as these may be uncomfortable for other students.
9. Arriving for class
-
Please arrive in good time so that you can settle in before the class begins.
-
If you arrive late, please enter quietly and considerately. For safety reasons, if you are more than 10 minutes late for class you may be refused entry as warm up will be missed.
-
Please follow any venue-specific instructions regarding parking, access and use of the facilities.
10. Equipment and personal belongings
Village Roots Yoga will provide the equipment required for the class, including mats, blankets and other props where appropriate.
-
You are welcome to bring and use your own yoga mat or equipment if you prefer.
-
Please treat all Village Roots Yoga and venue equipment with care.
-
Personal belongings are brought into the venue at your own risk. Village Roots Yoga cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal possessions.
11. Photography and filming
-
Please do not photograph or film other students during a class without their permission.
-
Village Roots Yoga may occasionally take photographs or short videos for promotional purposes. No student will be knowingly photographed or filmed for promotional use without their consent.
-
Please speak to the teacher before class if you do not wish to appear in any photography or filming.
12. Children and accompanying persons
-
Village Roots Yoga classes are intended for adults unless a class is specifically advertised as suitable for children.
-
Children or other accompanying persons should not attend unless agreed in advance with Village Roots Yoga.
13. Website and payments
-
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) and are correct at the time of purchase.
-
Village Roots Yoga reserves the right to change class prices, class schedules and class pass options. Any changes will not affect bookings or passes already purchased, except where otherwise stated.

Please ensure that the contact and booking information provided at checkout is accurate.
14. Refunds
Except where otherwise stated in these terms or required by law:
-
Class passes are non-refundable once purchased.
-
Unused class credits cannot be exchanged for cash.
-
Where Village Roots Yoga cancels a class, an alternative class or appropriate refund/credit will be offered.
-
If you become pregnant or discover that you are less than 12 weeks postnatal after purchasing a class or pass, please contact Village Roots Yoga and a refund will be arranged for the affected purchase, as appropriate.
15. Right to refuse attendance
Village Roots Yoga reserves the right to refuse or end participation in a class where there is a reasonable concern about a student's safety, health, behaviour or the safety and wellbeing of others.
16. Changes to these Terms & Conditions
Village Roots Yoga may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version displayed on the website at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.
